MAD MEN (http://www.amctv.com/originals/madmen/) is the best new series to emerge since “Lost,” and probably the best ever produced by a cable network.  There is a depth and artistic rigor to this production which has caught my imagination in a way that compells me to spread the word.  Masterminded by “The Sopranos” alumni, writer Matthew Weiner (http://www.amctv.com/originals/madmen/cast/mweiner), “Mad Men” locates the dark heart and soul of contemporary America within the walls of  a Madison Avenue advertising agency circa 1960.  Not to be missed, and ready for download at ITunes.

DAVID LYNCH’S ( http://www.davidlynch.com/) new book on transendental meditation, “Catching the Big Fish” (http://www.amazon.com/Catching-Big-Fish-Meditation-Consciousness/dp/B000S1KZVA) is a real treat, if not a proper introduction to T.M.  However, I highly recommend the audio book version for the eerie feeling of hanging out with the deadpan master of experimental cinema.

And speaking of audio books, DC COMICS’ INFINITE CRISIS(http://www.graphicaudio.net/audiobooks/infinitecrisis.asp)  is an adaptation of a comic book mini series which reshaped the world of DC Comics, home of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman.  A sequel of sorts to DC’s “Crisis on Infinite earths,” this production features full sound effects, music and a large, talented cast of actors.  Too much fun.
